First and foremost, my best friend *bfoflcommish just hooked me up with another year on DA. Thanks a lot Ricky!

Plus, after getting not one, but two offers at the end of October, I accepted a position with Nielsen Online and I couldn't be happier. I get to work with many of my former clients again and what they do is really interesting, so work is no longer 'just a job'. Google's loss is someone else's gain!

Lately working on relaunching the Dotstar Studios site and I will have that wrapped up this week. Be sure to check it out. I have a FB fan page and a Twitter too, so add those if you like (they get more attention than this journal for sure). Tell you what, you do me and I will do you. Two weeks or so now after being let go from Google and I feel like I am the better for it. I felt this way on Sept. 30 and I still feel so now. To top it off, it looks like I have a few potential directions to go and I am in 'wait and see' mode at this point. Hoping to have at least one offer by the end of the week. Fingers crossed.

Guessing not. I had planned to have moved on to another company by now, but it seems that is not in the cards, so I will ride this out until Sept. 30, unless someone special comes knocking. I have a couple of potentials, but no one seems to be in a hurry. Frustrating, but it will come. Patience I do not have, need some I do.

Looks like a relatively new deviant, that I stumbled upon. Lots of good stuff to see there.

So, September 30th I will be gainfully unemployed, unless of course I find me something new between now and then. You can bet I have been focused on that more than art lately.

In other news, I have officially re-branded the old contract company (AintQuiteRight) as a new contract company (DotStar Studios). Seems to be going well and I have at least one new client, so staying busy there. If you are at all curious, please visit my site. It is a bit of a work in progress at the moment, but my services are listed there. I'm pretty excited about it, so more to come as it is available.

Also, still considering launching another venture with a partner or two as well. We'll see what happens, but I am trying to stay flexible and available.


The CafePress one seems to be doing OK. I hope to have some more shirts there soon. As for MySoti, I am not sure I will be keeping the store there. Just doesn't seem to get much exposure unfortunately. If you want to get a shirt while you still can, go for it:

Noticed my next deviation will be #100. Trying to think of something good to put up there since it is a milestone. Suggestions are welcome.

Contract work is sorta quiet, but I am working on some new channels. I am relaunching myself a little as well. Also, doing some stuff for some friends, which may payoff in the long run.

Work sucks. Finally moved to an awesome team and then the company tells me I need to uproot my family but didn't make it financially worthwhile. So, I've chosen to stay and will be now be affected like most, but to be honest, I feel a sense of relief. On top of that I have seen a couple of items lately that lead me to believe that I made the right choice. People who work hard deserve respect - that's all I am saying.

Also, considering launching another venture with a partner or two as well. Interesting times for sure.


I think the MySoti is cool, but I was right - not as much exposure as other sites. All I can do is keep trying (still keeping the Cafepress site too).
